Bird Watching Like You've Never Done Before!

Spokane River, Riverside State Park
April-August, 2008
Spokane, Washington

Last year we identified over 33 species of birds while floating down the river. Five minutes from downtown Spokane in the Peaceful Valley neighborhood there is a boat ramp hidden behind the bending bows of willows. Behind the willows, the Spokane River meanders over the Columbia Plateau, carving its way from the corner of civilization to the wild edges of nature. Coyote, deer, osprey and eagles are common sites along the banks of the Spokane as well as plentiful bird species. Float times are one and half hours to two hours depending on how much time we take stopping to bird from the raft.

Rivers are natural wildlife viewing corridors because they create prime habitat for numerous species of birds. Floating along the river in a raft is quiet and tranquil, allowing viewers to spot birds comfortably and quietly.

Get Ready to Hunt
On your bird watching float, bring your binoculars, your field guides and shoes you don't mind getting wet. We take care of everything else. We also offer lunch options, shuttle and helpful, friendly guides that are world class in their professionalism and knowledge.
